Me and My Wii: A Zumba Paradise

You all know that I love to get energetic on Saturday mornings.  Well, sometimes anyway.  Other days, I like to sleep in.  Today, however, is Saturday and I am going to get my energy up and then go watch college football all day with my friends.

So, what get me going in the morning other than coffee?  After re-reading Get Fit With Wii Fit , I decided to have look at what the Wii could do for me.

And, it turns out the answer is–A LOT.  You see, I love to go to Zumba class but it is now only 1 day a week at my gym and this is not enough.  I get so pumped up and feel great after Zumba.   Well, now we have a Wii game called Zumba Fitness and it is one of the Top Rated Wii Games currently on the market.  In fact, is rated #2 just behind The Legend of Zelda, though I really don’t know what that is.

Anway, I am interested in the Zumba part, so I went out and bought Zumba Wii and have just had my Saturday morning session.  AWESOME!

I would say that the one drawback is that there are not a bunch of people there in person to motivate you and pump you up.  But, the video does pretty well in making you feel like you are a part of the group.

Anyway, if you love Zumba, check out Zumba Fitness on Wii!

Calculating Sales Tax On My New Refridgerator

My plan on this Sunday is to head over to Costo can get a new refridgertor because mine is, well, old and nasty.  The price of this is a bit hefty, about $1999.  I have that money set aside but I need to remember an item like this will have some hefty sales tax and I never know what that will be.

I have always struggled to quickly caculate sales taxes and have to constantly ask my friends how do I figure sales tax because I am always forgetting.  I guess for this big item it will be somewhere in the neighborhood of $160, which really adds to the price of the damn thing.

After realizing that I will need about $200 more, I find myself wondering Where is My Tax Refund??? so I can afford this whole thing.  I filed my taxes early this year, in early January actually and I thought I may be getting my tax refund earlier but it has not shown up in the mail yet.

Argggh, this is not how I want my Sunday to go.  I hate thinking about finances on the weekend.

Screw it.  I will just put the thing on a credit card and work out the numbers later!!!

Considering the New ASUS Laptop

I am writing this entry on my old Dell Laptop.

I say old but this thing has no more than three years.  Three Years!  You pay upwards of $1,000 for something and it becomes antiquated in 3 years.  That does not quite seem fair.

I love my Dell…it’s one of the D410s, which means its as small as can be.  However, I make it big by connecting laptop to TV, I use my LCD TV as my monitor and I am good then feeling like I am king of the castle.

However, when I do this, I do not like to carry all the power cords over to the laptop so I relay on the battery life of the laptop.  And right now, after 3 years, the battery life on my Dell simply sucks.  I know that this is not a technical term but it’s a real term.  I now get about 15 minutes of battery life.

I think that the thing is not even working or something.  15 minutes?

So, I might need an upgrade and I began reading an article called The ASUS UL30A-X5 Laptop Rules which talks about a new laptop that provides 12 hours of battery life.  12 hours?

That is worth the price of admission alone.  Add to that all the components inside the machine are newer than the ones that I have.  Thus, it might be time to shell out another $1000, nope, it’s actually just $650, and retire my old, beloved Dell laptop!
